We took a group of 18 here (bill was over $1,100 with drinks and desserts). We were all from out of town, and we were looking for a "Hill experience." I simply wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a large group. The only staff member who was even a little bit friendly to us was the young man clearing our plates. We were a friendly group, but we couldn't get a kind word out of our waiter, the manager who was near the door, or the host. The entrees were attractive, but everything arrived at the table cold. The side dishes (the rice specifically) looked like something you would get at a large convention hotel banquet. No one touched their sides at all. Overall, we would have been happier at some chain restaurant. Maybe this place is better for a couple looking for a quiet dinner, but if you're taking a group, pick a place that is better suited.

The bartender, hostess and bus personnel were very friendly and professional. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for our waiter, who was not the least bit helpful, and downright rude and argumentative. The restaurant has an extensive wine list tying back to it's Italian roots. If was difficult to make a selection as we were unfamiliar with the Italian wines, and the list provided absolutely zero descriptive info, providing only the name of the wine. This meant that we needed to ask the waiter for a suggestion, based on our preferences. As the list is so big, and bottles range from the low $30 dollar range to $150 and up, we obviously had to include a price range, which was awkward. Once he realized we did not want to spend over $50 for a bottle he became rude and belligerent. I travel quite a bit on business and eat out 3 times a day at least 100 days a year. Most of the restaurants that I have dinner at are very high end, as I am usually entertaining guests. My meal was cold, as was that of 3 of the 4 of us. One meal was piping hot. I am guessing ours sat in the kitchen while the hot meal was finished. This is the first time in the thousands of times that I have out that I had to send a meal back to be heated. When it came back it was only room temperature; I just ended up taking it home to heat it up the next day. The desert was excellent. I'll pass on the meal and the waitstaff though.

I went to Charlie Gitto's from advice by a local. The place was quaint, I mean it needed to be remodeled about 20 years ago. The waitress was superb!!!! 5 stars just for her. The cook in that restaraunt obviously burned his tongue a long time ago and can not taste his cooking or maybe people are afraid to tell him that it has no taste. Not to mention when you overcharge for a spinach salad try and leave the wilted pieces out! The pizza tasted like it came from a freezer section at the local market. The iced tea would have been great if they actually put some tea in the water. I felt violated when I got the bill! Not to mention I went back to the local advice giver and punched her in the mouth. Next time I want pizza I will go to Dominoes.
