One of the top zoos in the nation, the Saint Louis Zoo contains impressive exhibitions of animals both individually and in multiple species areas organized by natural habitat, giving visitors a better view of how these animals live and interact in the wild. Special areas in the zoo include a children's petting zoo, a motion simulator ride, a 3-D movie theater, a play area for children and a carousel. Feedings of some animals are given in front of onlookers and the Discovery Corner area is chock-full of hands-on activities and experiences for youngsters. One of the many attractions contained within scenic Forest Park, the zoo is close to the Saint Louis Science Center and the Missouri History Museum.
